The success of our operations depends on the gracious support donated by those who possess a "Small Vessel Operators Proficiency Licence" and are accredited safe boating operators. The more captains that are willing to donate their time, the more cruises we will be able to offer.
Each cruise must carry both a qualified volunteer captain and two crewmates.
We still need your support for the seniors, people with disabilities and special needs groups within our community, so they may experience the wonderful therapeutic benefits that a day on Okanagan Lake can bring.
The TLC Society is looking for experienced "Captains" with a minimum of an SVOP certification for operating small commercial vessels. They will be required to pilot out a 24 foot patio pontoon boat, taking Seniors and people with disabilities throughout the Central Okanagan for 1-2 hour cruises on Okanagan Lake. We are planning for two departures daily, Monday thru Friday, between 10:00AM and 1:00 PM. The boat is commercially registered and approved to carry 11 passengers. Caregivers from the various facilities will be accompanying their passengers. If you have some time to donate and would like to "captain" for a very good cause.
If you are interested to get involved and serve as captain, please contact.
If you would like to inquire, please leave a name and email address we can get back to you at. Please also include a short summary of your experience and qualifications. We will get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you!
